It was summertime, which meant no more school drudgery or weekly book reports. In fact, nine-year-old Roodey Furst had just been promoted to the fourth grade (by the skin of her teeth). So, all she wanted to do was sleep till noon, chill-out with friends, watch TV and play video games 24/7. Unfortunately, Roodey's summer dreams were shattered after her Mom remarried. Worse than that, she had to share her space with a set of triplets named Kisha, Kobie and Kali, four weird stepbrothers, two blind ferrets, and a pesky parrot! Roodey desperately needed to escape her chaotic surroundings and junk food was the perfect diversion. But, her overindulgence triggered something far more threatening than fat jokes or dysfunctional family troubles---its called Type 2 Diabetes!
